Charis Dimaras - Piano music by Dimitri Mitropoulos and Yorgo Sicilianos was chosen to be released in 2010 to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of Greek-American conductor Dimitri Mitropoulos’ death. The album contains a performance of Mitropoulos’ Greek Sonata by acclaimed pianist Charis Dimaras, which is also the first time the sonata is released on CD worldwide.

Piazzolla and the Greek folklore elements present in the music of N. Skalkottas and reaches the imaginative minimalism of J. Adams and the jazzy influences of G.Gershwin without leaving out references to B. Bartok and W. Lutoslawsky.

This is the second album of original music by renowned guitarist and teacher Vangelis Boudounis. Over twenty five years have past since the first album of the same title was released (the title is borrowed from the legendary radio show which was broadcasted on the second program of Greek national radio).

This release by Irida Classical consists of works for flute and flute and piano duos. It was coproduced with the State Conservatoire of Thessaloniki and received funding from the Greek Composers’ Union.

Orchestral Suites could be considered to be a musical portrait of acclaimed composer Periklis Koukos. The pieces on this CD are orchestral versions of pieces from two of his operas- Manuel Salinas and Conroy and his Copies, performed by the Sofia Radio Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Valeri Vatchev.

This album is a tribute to the composer for his contribution to Greek contemporary classical music. This is the first time that a full length album dedicated to the composer's chamber works is released.
